My name is Tayari Medearis born in san francisco, california and raised, as well as worked in San Francisco and Oakland California. I love both sides of the bay equally. Tayari means ready (for the journey of life) in Swahili and what a journey it has been. I’ve spent my life working in the black community building and providing services that improve the social and economic conditions of African American Communities and its been a beautiful struggle. Currently I’m the project director for a community wealth building initiative sponsored by the Kairos Fellowship SF in the Bayview Hunters point district of San Francisco.
